XXXVI Exhibition & Contest of Modern and Contemporary art "Russian Art Week" will be held at the AMBER-PLAZA Exhibition and Convention Center.

Application deadline: April 2, 2024

In addition to the widely represented professional community (Russian and foreign), the Week is considered as the most important event in the cultural life of the capital - held under the patronage of the Mayor of Moscow. A week will certainly become a significant informational occasion, the public interest in which is constantly growing. It will bring together visitors who are not indifferent to the world of beauty, many of whom are already collectors of objects of art, someone will decide to purchase for the first time. A visit to the Art Week may become a good tradition for many Muscovites and guests of the capital. The presence in one place of so many people who are passionate and interested in creativity will create a positive and emotional space for communication.

  1. PERSONAL (Full-time) (you visit Moscow and bring artwork in person);
  2. ARTWORK (you ship artwork, we exhibit)
  3. ART PRINT (you send file, we print and exhibit as a photocopies)
PROSPECTS
The authors present their works at one of the most popular exhibition venues in Moscow - at the Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Center. The modern pavilion of more than 4000 square meters is located in the Sokolniki Park. Artists, collectors, curators, artists, museum staff, art critics, consultants, designers, architects, historians, businessmen, diplomats, politicians, gallery owners, art dealers are invited to the exhibition.
 
GEOGRAPHY
In the Russian Art Week traditionally attended by over 1,000 authors from over 200 cities of Russia and foreign countries. Art week (ArtWeek), art exhibition and the international art-project, carried out in 22 countries. The full list is in section "Geography of art weeks".

Each of these competitive programs is conducted as an independent project, in which the winners are determined, with its own jury.

II. EXHIBITION AND FAIR PROGRAM

The exhibition invites a wide audience of visitors with a genuine passion for art, from serious collectors to those who buy their first original work. Comfortable conditions for viewing art objects, their evaluation and conclusion of contracts with the authors are created for visitors. The uniqueness and exclusivity of the exhibition works will be a discovery for a wide audience of art lovers and connoisseurs.

1) Painting 2) Graphic 3) Sculpture 4) Graphic and communicative design 5) Video art and digital art 6) Textiles, arts & crafts 7) Equipment and materials for artists   Categories of participants of the exhibition-fair: a) individual authors and creative teams; b) organizations-galleries and studios; c) educational institutions and organizations; d) commercial firms-producers and distributors of goods for the needs of artists, sculptors, designers, decorators, restorers. 

III. International Forum of Curators
The event with the participation of leading institutional and independent curators, gallery owners, art managers will trigger the strengthening and development of cultural ties between Russian artists and cultural specialists with colleagues from other countries and regions. The events of the Forum of Curators for different audience: the Symposium is for professionals portfolio review with international curators, for artists, Open studios for everyone.

The mission of the Curatorial forum is to create a platform for discussions, networking and initiating new projects, including international ones. The forum will help to unite professionals and lovers of contemporary art, to make more visible and accessible artists ' workshops, independent art spaces and galleries. The project is aimed at supporting local initiatives in the field of contemporary art, expanding the audience and involving it in current cultural processes. 

IV. INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

The purpose of the conference is to identify and analyze cultural, artistic and aesthetic, organizational and practical problems of functioning of the sphere of contemporary art and the art market in the context of globalization and dialogue of cultures.

V. MASTER-CLASSES, WORKSHOPS, LECTURES AND CREATIVE MEETINGSИ
Master classes are held in all areas of the Russian Art Week - painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and decorative arts. Russian Art Week International traditionally includes educational programs - workshopss, lectures and creative meetings, where famous artists and craftmen share their experience and knowledge. Famous painters, sculptors, photographers from Russia, Europe and Asian countries perfom for participants and visitors of the RAW. Every November during the RAW becomes the most important destination for artists, galleries, collectors, critics and curators from all over the world.

Russian Art Week includes four parts:
a) International Exhibition & competition
b) International Exhibition & Art-Fair

A unique opportunity for individual artists and craftsmen and art galleries and producers. Russian Art Week (RAW) is a platform where gallerists, curators, artists and collectors can discover and experience emerging art. The art fair successfully presented rising talent from Russia, Asia, America and Europe, strengthening its position as a unique interface between art decision makers in the nation's capital and emerging art advocates around the globe.

Over 5,000 art supporters engaged with works by 2000 artists from 24 countries in emerge's Gallery and Artist platforms. Building on the momentum of the fair's inaugural year, RAW set the bar yet higher for an authentic quality of art experience that is coming to be expected by a new generation of collectors in the prosperous region and beyond.

There are two ways to participate: ONLINE (in absentia) and IN PERSON (internal way).
All applications (full-time and in correspondence) are exhibited in the Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Center and are open to a wide audience of visitors. “In correspondence” works are exhibited in the form of photocopies (organizing committee prints sent files and places them in the overall exposure). In correspondence and full-time works are evaluated by the jury and have equal rights.

Expert Council / Jury

Unique feature of Russian Art Week is Expert Council / Jury which consist of many professional foreign and russian representatives of the World of Art.
The Expert Council includes the following professional groups:
a) famous members of unions and associations;
b) representatives of the specialized media;
c) head and art director of galleries;
d) art critics andart scientist.

Audience participants
 
Russian Art Week is open to a wide audience and include the following groups:

1) Participants of the competition program:
1) Category "Member of Union of artists": artists and craftsmen, a member of the professional associations
2) "Student" category: university, high school, college students and graduates (no longer than 2 years ago)
3) "Professional" category: practitioners in art, professors, organizations, graduates (more than 2 years ago)
4) "Amateur" category: people, whose hobby is art, but who do not have a special art education.

2) Participants of exhibition & Art-Fair:
a) legal entities - galleries and studios, the specialized agencies and the commercial manufacturers and distributors of products for the needs of artists, sculptors, designers, decorators, restorers
b) individuals - individual artists and creative teams

3) Participants of the conference:
To participate in the conference are invited galleries and studios, employees of institutions of education and culture, professionals working in the fields of culture and art, teachers of Universities, Colleges and secondary schools, teachers, postgraduates, candidates for academic degrees, academic staff, doctoral students, practitioners, as well as public figures and persons having a professional interest in the issues of the development of art and education.

4)  Participants of the master classes & workshops:
Workshops open to a wider audience. Listeners will be interested to learn about the specific techniques, materials and approaches used in world practice of creating art objects on the structure and peculiarities of functioning of Russian and foreign art-markets programs in support of talented authors.
 
 
 
Catalogue of participants of the Russian Art Week
ArtWorks of participants of the Russian Art Week published in the International edition of "New Faces in Arts". Catalogue published in two languages (Russian and English). Distributing the catalogue – galleries, exhibitions and fairs. The catalogue will be released in several volumes.

JURY / ADVISORY COUNCIL

Unique feature of the Russian Art Week is a participation in the Expert Council (jury) a large number of well-known Russian and foreign representatives of the Art World.
Among them are famous artists, designers, craftsmen and photographers from Russia, Asia, Europa and America.
The Expert Council includes the following professional groups:
a) famous artists, members of unions and associations;
b) representatives of the specialized mass media;
C) representatives of galleries and organizations;
